The Batman serial was renewed by Columbia Pictures. There are also underlying rights and trademarks owned by DC comics. In fact, Columbia Pictures is only still allowed to distribute this and their other serial "Batman and Robin" because of a loophole in the original contract about character and trademark rights. 20th Century Fox are not as lucky as DC comics prevents the release of the 1966 TV series unless it is released by their parent company Warner Bros.

National Telefilm Associates renewed the "Adventures of Captain Marvel". Captain Marvel serial is still distributed by their parent company Republic Entertainment. Again the underlying trademarks and rights on this character are owned by DC because the successfuilly sued Fawcett Comics claiming that Capt Marvel was a copyright infringement of Superman. DC won the rights to the comics but not the serial.

Excellent follow up! Thanks a bunch. Now how can we keep the uploading offender from contaminating the site?
